CHARLOTTE
HIGH SCHOOL KEY CLUB
The
KEY CLUB is a co-educational service club for high school
students ages 14 - 18. Those deemed eligible by their principal,
meet with his or her sanction under the sponsorship and assistance
of our Club. A KEY CLUB has the same officers and committees
like our Club and carries on programs in much the same way.
The KEY CLUB motto is, "Caring, Our Way of Life!".
Our Club formed the CHS KEY CLUB November 15, 1968 and is
guided by our Sponsored Youth Committee. There are 275 Key
Clubs in the Florida District with 12,225 members and 4,442
Key Clubs world-wide with over 206,251 members. Here in Charlotte
County there are KEY CLUBS at CHS, PCHS and LBHS.

AKTION
CLUBS
AKtion
Clubs started as a pilot program in Florida in 1990-91 for
adults with disabilities. They are patterned after Circle-K
and Key Clubs and are adult citizens working to overcome social
barriers and self doubts. Our Division 18 South has two AKtion
Clubs. The STAR AKtion Club formed March 1996 at STAR in Port
Charlotte meets at noon on the 1st & 3rd Thursday at STAR,
525 Bowman Terrace. (629-5655). The other is Loveland AKtion
Club in South Venice. All AKtion Clubs became part of the
K-family under Sponsored Youth on Oct. 1, 2000. There are
27 AKtion Clubs in Florida with 784 members. There are 80
AKtion Clubs in Kiwanis International with over 2,000 members.
