¨ NEW MEMBER PARTY: The club held a wine & cheese party here at Benedetto's last Thursday and 13 invited people showed up. Joan Greene sent out over 40 invitations based on members suggestions. There was a lot of fellowship and networking. Each person received Club information. Joan will send letters inviting them to a club meeting.

¨ K.I. PRES. CANADAY VISIT: Last Saturday , Pres. Elect Joan Greene, Secretary Bob Carpenter and Kaye, attended a great meeting/membership workshop with K.I. President Canaday at Lakewood Ranch High School. It was a wonderful meeting and worth the drive to Bradenton. (See Photo)

¨ ANNUAL INSTALLATION BANQUET: Our annual 83rd annual banquet was held last Sunday at St. Andrews South. There were 54 who signed up. President Sheryl Flavin presented her awards and the rest will be presented in the next week or two. This is the first Installation Banquet I have missed in 28 years as I got a Sheriff callout for the 10-hour SWAT standoff. Thanks to my wife Kaye, she handled my MC duties very well. More details Oct. 2 at President Joan's first meeting.

¨ RODNEY HAS 5 DAYS LEFT FOR INTERCLUB: Rodney Taylor has only 5 days to get an Interclub together with no less than 4 members to get off the Diabolical List! Fines started June 1 of $1 per week and Rodney now owes $18. We have 22 consecutive years with 100% of members getting their Interclub.

¨ CHRISTMAS CARD LANE : Gene Murtha reports CCL planning is underway. Entry deadline is Nov. 28, installation of cards is Dec. 6 and takedown is Jan. 3. Permit has been obtained from the City. Gene would like members to stay 15 minutes after today's meeting to discuss more details.

¨ DIV-18S SCHEDULES FUND RAISER AT VISANI : Our Division has scheduled a fund raiser at Visani Dinner and Comedy Club on Oct. 7 . Cost for the 8pm show is $10 with 100% of the funds going to our Kiwanis Division. Dinner starts at 6pm if you'd like. See Joan for tickets.

¨ NEW KIWANIS GOLF SHIRTS: Larry Taylor is taking orders for a new, lighter weight Kiwanis Orange golf shirts with logo. Total cost is $32. See Larry.

¨ PRESENTATION : Joan Greene of YCPO presented a $500 check was presented last week to Headstart Pre-K for its Pregnant Moms Baby Shower program.

¨ PG Kiwanis KALENDAR:

Oct. TBA: Peanut Day Fund Raiser.

Mar. 7, 2009 : PG Kiwanis Family Kar Show.

¨ NEXT PNM LUNCHEON OCT. 7 : Prospective new Members and their sponsor meet at River City Grille at 11:45 a.m. Contact Larry Taylor or Norm Hall .

¨ LAST WEEK : Jerry Olivo, updates on CHS rebuilding.

¨ TODAY's PROGRAM : Ron Struthers on the new Sunloft Center in downtown PG.
