¨ NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE : The Committee is made up of Pres. Sheryl Flavin, Pedro Perez, Joan Greene, Bob Carpenter, and Sue Craig. Nominations go to the Apr. 1 Board meeting for approval then published in KiwaNEWS April 3 & 10, then vote at the annual Elections/Club Meeting Apr. 17. Directors retiring Sep. 30 are: Bob Naylor, Mike Rooney and Larry Taylor. Need President (2008-09) to replace Murtha. JJ Gerow for President Elect (2009-10) and a new Vice President.

Also, due to Robin Lindecamp's new job, she is unable to attend our meetings and will join the PC Sunrise Kiwanis Club. This means we need a director replacement for Robin for her 2 years left on her present term. If you would like to be considered for a Director, President or Vice-President position, please contact Pres. Sheryl or me ASAP .

¨ KIWANIS KLASSIC FAMILY KAR SHOW: Our 3rd annual show on March 1, should net about $5,000. Thanks to all!

¨ ANNUAL BOY SCOUT F.O.S. FUND RAISER: Our annual BSA Friends of Scouting fund raiser started Feb. 7. After our 4th week, members donated or pledged $2,700 towards our $7,800 goal. Pledge cards have been distributed to all members. Please attach a check or cash, or make a pledge and indicate if you want 1 to 4 payments and a start date that the BSA office will send you an invoice. Thanks to all who have donated or pledged so far.

Mar. 29-Apr. 3 : FLA District cruise to Grand Cayman & Jamaica.

¨ KEY CLUB CONVENTION : Our CHS Key Club is sending 3 boys and 3 girls to Orlando Apr. 10-13. They need a male chaperone since JJ Gerow will not be able to attend. Please see JJ.

¨ PNM LUNCHEON APRIL 1 : Prospective New Members and their sponsor meets at River City Grille at 11:30 a.m. We have 3 PNM's who members brought to meetings, they are: Darrin Metz (Diehl); Ed Miller (Hicks), and Randy Spence (Klossner) . Please turn in application ASAP. For Kiwanis to do more community service, we need more members.

¨ CLUB POLICY ON CANDIDATES: Please feel free to bring a candidate to lunch, but, no politicking in the building. Introduce your guest by the office they seek, but no speeches. Literature and petitions must be distributed OUTSIDE the building. No announced candidate will be considered for membership until after the election. Candidates in the Aug. 26 Primary will be invited Aug. 14 to a “Candidates Day” program. Those in the Nov. 4 General Elections, will be invited to speak Oct. 30. Kiwanis International forbids politicking at club meetings. Please abide by the Kiwanis International and club policy.
