¨ WELCOME TO THE P. G. KIWANIS “OSCARS ” DAY : We'll have a special visit today by member Oscar Hettema who moved to Dunlap, TN. Also, we will be visited by the other Oscar, Oscar Dorr who is recovering from a serious fall and has a few more weeks to go at Charlotte Harbor Health Care. Please be sure to welcome them back at our Kiwanis meeting today.

¨ NEED PRESIDENT ELECT REPLACEMENT : As you know, Gene Murtha stepped down as President Elect for 2008-09 due to his wife's health and treatments in California. The Board is looking for an immediate replacement . If you would like to get involved in becoming Club President Oct. 1, 2008, please let me or Pres. Sheryl know ASAP. Thanks.

¨ KIWANIS KAR SHOW & FAMILY FUN DAY: Our 3rd annual show is Mar. 1 , 10am-3pm off Jones Loop Rd. east of Piper Rd. Chair Sam Summers says we'll have a wide variety of antique cars, classic cars, hotrods, sports cars, race cars, go karts, show bikes, antique tractors, swap meet, fire safety demo, CCSO K-9 demo (11am), PGFD Safe House, FHP Sobriety First Team. A raffle will be held every hour and there will be a Boy Scout “Camp-In” by scouts demonstrating scout crafts and skills. Vendors include BBQ, hotdogs, ice cream and pretzels. We have a live band, “Armed & Dangerous” that has performed nationally on MTV and throughout Florida. We still need items for 150 goodie bags. Please asking businesses for items or discount coupons. ¨ PGCC WINE & JAZZ FEST FUND RAISER FEB. 16 : Robin Lindecamp is coordinating a club fund raiser. For every ticket we sell we will get $10. Tickets are $65 before Jan. 31; $75 after that. Literature and petitions must be distributed OUTSIDE the building. No announced candidate will be considered for membership until after the election. Candidates in the Aug. 26 Primary will be invited Aug. 14 to a “Candidates Day” program. Those in the Nov. 4 General Elections, will be invited to speak Oct. 30.
