¨ ANNUAL INSTALLATION BANQUET : Vice President JJ Gerow is chairing the annual Installation Banquet which is set for Sunday, Oct. 7 at the new Isles Yacht Club. Details and signup sheet coming soon.

¨ OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE FUND RAISER : On Thursday, Oct. 11 , our meeting will be at Outback in Murdock, not here at the Am. Legion that day. Tickets are $10 for a steak, salad, and potatoes. Joan Greene has tickets for 200 people; no program, just great fellowship. We get 100% of the $10 . Tip is requested since cooks/wait staff are not paid to work our luncheon. Members must buy the $10 ticket in advance; you'll get an $8 credit since you won't be at our regular meeting that day. Bring as many friends-relatives-employees as you want. Deadline to turn in tickets and money is Thursday, Sep. 27 when we have to confirm the number attending. No tickets will be sold at the door.

¨ CITY EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH : Mike Rooney presented the award to Lavosia “Peanut” Price of the Sanitation Division. He brought his wife and two beautiful children. Lavosia's been with the City one year. He was in the Army in Iraq before.

¨ MEMBER AL CLARK : On Aug. 6, Al fell in his home and remains is recovering at in room 167 on the first floor of Harbor Terrace in South Port Square. We'll get a report today about his condition. You can call Al on his cell phone at 258-6330, or stop by and see him.

¨ WALT EVANS SAYS SIGN UP NOW !: Walt is scheduling 12 members to be monthly Door Greeters . He also needs 12 members to pick a month and then provide Speakers for that month. Sign up now!

¨ SENIOR MEMBERS : The Board set a new policy at the Aug. 7 meeting that affects Senior Members. Senior's pay for meals only when they attend, not like Active members who pay for meals whether they attend or not. The additional funds Active members pay when they are not in attendance goes to the Admin fund and pays for their meals if they attend the Installation Banquet, Governor's Visit, Prayer Breakfasts, Annual Picnic, etc. Since Senior's pay only for meals eaten and do not contribute to the Admin fund, it costs the Club to pay for the Senior members meal at these special events. The new policy is, Seniors will now be charged if they attend these special events.

¨ MEMBERSHIP UPDATE : We have taken in 11 new members since last Oct. 1 but lost 20 for a minus –9. PNM's brought to the meetings are: Mike Graddy (Harris); Vic George & Darrin Metz (Diehl); Ed Miller (Hicks), Alli Creek (Carpenter) . Please turn in their application ASAP for the Oct. 2 Board meeting. It's very important for us to do more community service, we need more members. Please bring a PNM to Kiwanis.
